Level I Handgun
Course Description:
This Basic Firearms Training Course is designed to offer a comprehensive introduction to firearms safety, handling, and shooting techniques. Aimed at beginners with little to no experience, the course provides an immersive learning environment where participants gain knowledge and skills under the close supervision of experienced and certified instructors.
Course Content:
- Firearms Safety: This forms the foundation of the course. Participants learn the four fundamental rules of gun safety, safe storage practices, and the legal and ethical considerations of firearms use.
- Firearms Basics: Participants will be introduced to different types of firearms, including pistols, revolvers, shotguns, and rifles. This section will cover basic parts, operation, maintenance, and ammunition types.
- Shooting Fundamentals: This part of the course focuses on practical skills including stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, and follow-through. Participants will learn how to load, unload, and safely handle firearms.
- Range Time: The course culminates with participants applying their newfound knowledge at a live-fire range. Under the watchful eyes of our instructors, participants will practice shooting exercises designed to build confidence and competence.
Course Outcome:
Upon completion of this course, participants will have a solid understanding of firearms safety and operation, and they will be able to apply basic shooting techniques. They will also receive a certificate of completion, which can often be used to fulfill basic training requirements for obtaining a firearms license.
Course Duration:
This is a half-day course, typically running from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a break for refreshments.
